No.28 is situated on 27-29 Nelson Street right in the centre of Newcastle city centre. It’s a little hidden gem with quirky furniture and fantastic food.
Mr Gourmand tried the Sunlik Beer which apparently is the UK’s No.1 draft Chinese beer. Where ever we go he always likes to try something a little different, No28 is perfect for this as there is a massive range of drinks on offer.
Mr Gourmand had the Red Thai Tiger Prawn Ciabatta (£4.95) which was delicious, the flavours were so tasty, he had not expected it to taste anything like what it did. A taste explosion in the mouth!
The Hand Cut Chips (£1.50) Were crispy on the outside, soft inside, sweet and delicious.
I chose the braised Steak and Ale pie with mash and mushy peas (£6.95). The steak was meaty and tender and was served in a delicious tomato based sauce with juicy carrots and onions. The Mash was creamy and soft, just perfect.
